"GREEN CHAIN": RESTAURANTS, SHOPS AND HOSTELS IN VIETNAM SIGNED PLEDGE:
"NOT SELLING, NOT STORING AND NOT USING PRODUCTS FROM WILDLIFE".
Early February 2014, we launched a campaign aimed to Vietnamese owners of shops, restaurants and hostels from the North to the South of the country to sign a pledge with us. The pledge stated: "We will NOT sell, or store, or use any products from wildlife". By signing this commitment, they will also hang up our posters to promote conservation of rhinos, elephants and other wild animals.
Shops, restaurants and hostels that are signed commitment with us will be promoted on our Facebook page (Toi Yeu Dong Vat) and our website. Our volunteers can visit these shops at anytime to check their activities. If our volunteers found out that they break the commitment by selling, storing or using product from wild animals illegally, we will report to forest rangers or/and Vietnamese environmental police. Their name will also be deleted from the "Green chain" and lost their reputation.
From 1st February until today, we have 5 shops and restaurants from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city signed commitment with us. It is hoped that we will be able to create a map of "Green chain" by the end of this year.
